2012 OFYC Youth Summit
Current and former foster youth between 14-25 years of age are invited to join young people from around Oregon for OFYC's 2012 Youth Summit!
Applications due June 21st by 5pm
OFYC members have chosen two issue areas that attendees will focus on, and you will select your issue area in your application:
- Foster Youth Rights
- Independent Living Program Expansion
OFYC is busy
planning all the fun that will be squeezed into these three days,
inluding outdoor activities, movies, games and raffle prizes!
You will spend the summit with other young people working on the same topic. You will learn what Oregon is doing around your specific issue, learn how to talk about how your personal experiences connect with that particular issue, and discuss ways to make that part of the foster care system better.
On the third day, you will break into small groups and present your recommendations to invited guests that will include public leaders, policy makers, DHS administrators and all community partners who work with foster youth.
Registration is from 6pm-7pm on Sunday, July 8th. The conference concludes by 3pm on Wednesday, July 11th.
